Filing for 2017 municipal elections will start at noon July 7.

The filing period will end at noon July 21.

Positions will be up for election in every town and city in Rowan County. In some municipalities, such as Salisbury, all city council seats will be up for grabs. In others, such as China Grove and Kannapolis, only some council positions will be on the ballot.

Filing for town and city council positions is at the Rowan County Board of Elections office, 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd. W., Suite D10, Salisbury.

Candidates must be residents of and qualified voters in the town or city in which they file for office.
