Area Sports Briefs: Perry, 13, gets ace

Brodie Perry, 13, made a hole-in-one on the 105-yard No. 3 hole at McCanless on Monday.
Perry used a pitching wedge. The ball lodged between the flag and the edge of the cup for a few moments until the flag shifted and the ball fell in the cup.
Perry was practicing with his PGA Junior League team for an upcoming match. He was playing with Cade Cranfield, Ethyn Haynes and Jackson Davis. Also witnessing the shot was Ethyn’s father, Chris Haynes.
Brodie is the son of Scott Perry, PGA professional at McCanless.
Legion baseball
Rowan County’s home game with Kernersville was rained out on Monday.
Rowan is scheduled to play Mocksville tonight at Rich Park.
Jr. Legion baseball
Salisbury at East Rowan was rained out on Monday and rescheduled for Wednesday.
Intimidators
The Kannapolis Intimidators were off on Monday.
They’ll open a series at Lakewood today.
Summer basketball
The Hurley YMCA, Salisbury Parks and Recreation and Fieldhouse are offering a summer basketball league.
Games are June 12-Aug. 19. Boys and girls. Ages 5-16. $15 per child.

East basketball camp
East Rowan Basketball Skills Camp for rising 2nd-5th grade boys and girls will be held June 15-16. The cost is $40.
Camp for boys and girls grade 6-9 will be held June 19-21. Cost is $60.
