Rowan weather: Chance of rain almost all week

The chance of showers and thunderstorms today is down to 30 percent, but some of those storms could pack a punch of heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning.

Most of the storms will be this afternoon. It will be mostly cloudy and 81, with calm winds becoming west southwest at 6 mph this morning. A tenth of an inch of rain is possible, except higher in thunderstorms.

Tonight also has a 30 percent chance of showers and storms. It will be mostly cloudy and 62, with light southwest winds. Another tenth of an inch is possible.

Wednesday, too, has a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. It will be mostly sunny and 83, with southwest winds of 5-9 mph in the afternoon.

The same chance of rain hangs around for Wednesday night, too, then it will be partly cloudy with a low of 60 and light west winds.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and 82, with north northwest wind at 3-8 mph. Thursday night will be partly cloudy and 64.

Then we’re back to the daily 30 percent chance of rain for Friday and Saturday.

Friday’s showers will be after 5 p.m., and the day will be partly sunny and 83.

Showers should taper off by 9 p.m., with a mostly cloudy night and a low of 66.

A 30 percent of showers and thunderstorms is possible Saturday after 1 p.m., and it will be partly sunny and 85.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms goes up to 40 percent Saturday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 68.

The 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms sticks around Sunday, which will be mostly cloudy and 82.

Then the chance of showers and thunderstorms goes up to 50 percent Sunday night, with a low of 66.

Once again, Monday brings the usual 30 percent chance of showers and storms, with partly sunny skies and a high of 80.

We seem to be in a typical summer pattern already.
