Fire at Gildan Yarns contained
Firefighters worked for about 50 minutes Friday to contain a fire at Gildan Yarns.
The fire was reported about 5 p.m. at the building, 2121 Heilig Road.
The fire reportedly started in the ventilation system, which caused smoke to billow from the roof. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Firefighters from Salisbury, South Salisbury and Granite Quarry departments were called to the scene. The South Salisbury fire station was in command.
There were no reports of property damage or whether any people were in the building at the time of the fire.
