Kahrs to exhibit in DIMENSIONS 2017

Salisbury artist Keyth Kahrs has been selected by juror Hanna Jubran to exhibit his painting in the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem’s 53rd annual DIMENSIONS 2017 National Juried Fine Art Competition and Exhibition.

His 24” x 36” acrylic on canvas painting titled “American Toad of the Uwharries” will be on display in a field of two and three-dimensional fine art media May 25-July 25 at the Carlyle Gallery inside the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts located at: 251 N. Spruce St., Winston-Salem.

The reception and awards ceremony is Friday, June 2 from 5-7 p.m.

With a a stage persona so natural and inviting it’s like sitting in his living room having a conversation. Spanky Brown started his career in 1997. He draws from his experiences as a car salesman, advertising executive, radio personality, husband, ex-husband, husband and ex-husband again (you do the math), the army, and being the son of a preacher.

Quincy Carr is a one of the hardest-working, quality-driven comedians in the entertainment industry. This Texas native is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and professional comedian and actor who is known for his signature clean comedy. Quincy has worked with many of the top comics in the business such as SNL’s Jay Pharaoh, Dane Cook, Kevin Hart, and close friend and “Original Queen of Comedy,” Sommore.

Art workshop offered

“Creating Lively Art using Watercolor, Pen & Ink” is a two-day workshop with Marietta Smith, to be held June 20-21 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The cost is $125 plus supply list. This workshop is for beginners to immediates who have some experience with watercolor painting; there will be a maximum of 10 participants.
