Newcomers Club Crazy Hat Tea Party

by Kim Hoyt

The Salisbury-Rowan Newcomers Club held its annual Crazy Hat Tea Party on April 19 at the Club House at Grace Ridge. There were 24 members and guests in attendance.

There were prizes for members who received the most votes in the following hat categories: Crazy/Funny; Garden; Creative; Pretty; Vintage Charm; and I Don’t Know What Category To Enter My Hat.

Our special guest was Grace Hardy, granddaughter of Judy Hardy;  they won the prize for best costume – Cruella de Vil and a Dalmatian Puppy, from the movie 101 Dalmatians.

The members and guests had a fun afternoon eating Tea Party “goodies,” drinking tea, laughing and telling stories about their hats and costumes.
