Rowan weather: Ready for the heat?

The hot weather has arrived. Is it here to stay? You never know in North Carolina.

Today’s high will be 84, with sunny skies and a northwest wind at 3-8 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear and 58.

Today, Tuesday and Wednesday will be Code Yellow air quality days, meaning air quality is OK, but unusually sensitive people may be affected, such as those with asthma or allergies.

Tuesday will be sunny and 85, with light and variable wind. It will be mostly clear again Tuesday night, with a low of 64 and light southeast wind.

For Wednesday, we go up to 88 degrees, with more sun and southwest wind at 5-10 mph. The low will be 64, with partly cloudy skies.

Mostly sunny Thursday, with another high of 88. The low will be 66.

Friday will be mostly sunny and 87, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. The same chance of rain is possible Friday night, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 65.

Saturday sounds a lot like Friday, with a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, but the high will be 83.

Sunday, we have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny and 84.
