ROCKWELL – One person was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Rockwell.

The crash occurred in front of a home at 4225 E. N.C. 152 about 10 a.m. A passenger, Elizabeth Beck Morgan, was pinned inside a Pontiac and had to be helped out of the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be checked out, said N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper R.T. Coward.

Morgan’s husband, Bobby, was driving, but he was not injured. Bobby Morgan was charged with failure to reduce speed.

The Pontiac went sideways after Bobby Morgan tried to brake, Coward said. The passenger side of the Pontiac collided with the driver’s side of a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Steven Carroll of China Grove. Carroll was not injured in the crash.
