Dr. Cave certified

The American Board of Physician Specialties, the official certifying body of the American Association of Physician Specialists Inc, has announced that John S. Cave, M.D., of Salisbury successfully completed all of the requirements for certification in emergency medicine through the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine, an AAPS/ABPS affiliated Board of Certification.

Dr. Cave works in the Emergency Department at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden and is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has practiced emergency medicine in North Carolina since 2000 and previously had his own private internal medicine practice in Henderson, Ky.

ABPS is a national multi-specialty certifying agency that represents thousand of physicians. AAPS provides a clinically recognized mechanism for specialty certification of physicians with advanced training.

Award for activity coordinator

Karen Leonard of Oak Park in Salisbury has received the  Sheryl Bauer Activity Coordinator of Excellence — The Sky’s the Limit Award. This award was presented to three activity coordinators who are consistently amazing on how they run their activity programs.

They are constantly raising the bar with everything they do and inspire all that work with them to be a little bit better each day.

Also honored were Gloria Churney of Mulberry Gardens AL in Munroe Falls, Ohio, and Chelsea Erbe of Camden Springs in Elk Grove, Calif.

Fortson Diesel Repair open

Fortson Diesel Repair Inc., has been established from Fortson Freight Systems, which started in 1995 as a family business.

Four diesel technicians are available to do needed repairs. They specialize in medium and heavy duty equipment such as work trucks, box trucks, tractor-trailers and construction equipment. They plan to expand to offer automotive and marine repair.

When Fortson Freight moved to Montclair Drive, it had space enough to open up a shop to repair other’s equipment. The family saw a need for truck service and repair.
