Crosby Scholars senior advisers needed

SALISBURY — This June, the Crosby Scholars program will have assisted 360 students from across Rowan County with their post-secondary plans. Each of these seniors worked with a trained adviser, receiving assistance with college applications, essay review, FAFSA completion and overall coordination of the college access process.

These mentors meet with their assigned students beginning in the summer before the senior year. They continue to meet monthly with the seniors, assisting with the college application process and plans for after high school.

The Crosby Scholars program relies on volunteers to serve in this capacity, and this year has almost 60 students who still need to be paired with a trained mentor.

If you want to assist seniors with their plans to go to college, contact the Crosby Scholars office. All volunteers who work with students undergo Crosby Scholars training and background checks through the Rowan-Salisbury Schools system.
