Childress, Robbins move into quarterfinals

CAMDEN, S.C. — Salisbury’s Michael Childress and his Cannon School teammate Lansdon Robbins have moved into the quarterfinals of the 66th annual Carolinas Four-Ball Championship at Camden Country Club.
Childress and Robbins, seeded third of 32 two-man match-play teams, defeated No. 30 Robert Dargan-David Dargan on Friday, 1-up.
The young duo then advanced out of the round of 16 when the team of Sammy Truett and Bert Atkinson withdrew.
Childress and Robbins will play No. 18-seeded Matthew Laydon-Chris Mitchell today in the quarterfinals.
Semifinals will also be played today and the championship concludes the event on Sunday.
