Autumn Care of Salisbury honored its volunteers April 13 with a luncheon at the facility.
Chaplain Mike Oney was named Volunteer of the Year. He is a singer who has volunteered for four years.
More than 50 volunteers sing, dance, preach, do nail care, bake cakes, read, talk and listen. They offer hugs, hold aging hands and try to be good friend to all the residents.
Door prizes and certificates were handed out at the luncheon.
College Barbecue, Wink’s, BeBops, Food Lion, the Flower Basket, Cracker Barrel and Papa Johns contributed to the luncheon.
On April 10, Autumn Care had an Easter egg hunt for children from Kiddie Land Day Care.
Forty-five 3- to 5-year-olds were brought to search for eggs.
Residents watched and joined in the festivities. The children passed around many hugs.
After the egg hunt, children and residents had a snack together.
Residents praised the children as being very well-behaved.
