International and national business leaders with the Global Vision Leaders group met in Kannapolis on Thursday, hosted by the city, the North Carolina Research Campus and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Global Vision is focused on developing business opportunities for the state of North Carolina.
Kannapolis Mayor Darrell Hinnant addressed the group.
“I believe that the vision we have for Kannapolis fits right in with the mission of many of the groups you all represent — to grow the region economically through international trade, workforce development, and building community assets,” Hinnant said “We have stable and business-oriented elected officials here in Kannapolis and in our county. We are working very hard with all of our partners, especially those in higher education as you will see during this event, to make investments and position this area for economic growth. We look forward to collaborating with you.”
During the meeting with leaders from the host organizations, the group of more than 100 received information about opportunities for partnerships with the N.C. Research Campus, the city’s Downtown Revitalization Project, and the new Advanced Technology Center to be built by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College on the Research Campus.
Representatives of Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina and the Cabarrus Economic Development Corp. were on hand to discuss resources and assets available to recruit and expand companies in Cabarrus County.
