Faith Elementary

Classical Conversations

The following members of Classical Conversations were named Memory Master achievers: Leah Costantino, Ayden Flaherty, Seth Flaherty, Samuel Hammill, Owen Hammill, Lilli Cate Stirewalt, Amanda Stirewalt, Seth Warren and Rory Warren.

A Memory Master is a child who has memorized and recited 100 percent of the year’s memory work to two parents, the child’s tutor and the director of the program. This test includes an 161 event timeline of history, all U.S. presidents, over 100 locations and geographical features, Latin verb endings of the first conjugation, 24 facts each from history, science, and English grammar, and multiplication tables up to 15 times 15, basic geometry formulas and unit conversions.

Josh Sifford

Student invited to West Point

Josh Sifford, a junior in the South Rowan JROTC Academy, recently received notification from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point that he has been selected to attend the West Point Summer Leadership Experience in June.

The leadership experience is a week-long orientation to West Point designed to allow prospective cadets the opportunity to experience life as a member of the elite corps of cadets.

Josh is the son of Jana Sifford of China Grove. He is a member of the National Honor Society, and a senior ranking officer on the JROTC battalion staff.
