A.L. Brown’s baseball team won against Mallard Creek, 3-2, on Saturday.
The Wonders (11-3, 6-2 MECKA) got good pitching from Matt Baucom. He struck out six.
Baucom also had the walk-off blow for the Wonders in the seventh.
Baucom and Antonio Knight had two hits each.
Mallard Creek hurler Tyler Delos fanned 13.

The Greater Cabarrus Stallions defeated Watauga High, 8-2, on Saturday 8-2.
The Stallions (16-4) were led by Weston Cregger with three hits and three RBIs. Clay Pinion had three hits, and Seth Cauble and JT Fecteau had two each.
Cauble pitched a three-hitter and struck out six. The Stallions play at Forsyth Home Education on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Prep softball
Catawba signee Allie Baker had four hits for A.L. Brown in Friday’s 12-6 win against North Meck.
Lauren Ritchie had two hits. Harlie Taylor drove in two. Winning pitcher Ashlynn Stokes struck out 10.
Pfeiffer athletics
Pfeiffer softball kept rolling on Saturday, winning 14-0 and 10-3 at Emmanuel.

Pfeiffer baseball swept Barton, 7-5 and 11-1.
College baseball
Colton Laws (Carson) made another strong start for the Charlotte 49ers on Saturday after Friday’s rainout. Laws (4-0) beat Old Diminion, 3-1. Laws pitched seven innings. He allowed one run, struck out five and walked three.

Matt Vernon (Davie County) had two doubles in Appalachian State’s 7-6 win against Little Rock.
Mid. school baseball
West Rowan improved to 4-2 with wins over North Rowan and Knox.
Leading the way at the plate for the Bulldogs were JD Basinger, Ben Sweet, and Casey Gouge. Luke Koppe and Gouge picked up wins on the mound.
West plays China Grove on Tuesday.
