What message do signs send?

Is there anyone out there that is interested in banning tobacco at the RoCo parks? If so, say so.

Here is a list of some of the people I have dealt with over the past 12 years that are either not interested or just plain scared:

• Don Bringle and Bob Pendergrass, RoCo parks and Nature Center

• Greg Edds, RoCo Board of Commissioners

• Amy Smith and Carleen Crawford, RoCo Health Department

• Judy Klusman, Healthy Rowan

If the people I just called out can’t or won’t answer these three very simple questions, then who can?

Question No. 1: Why is the children’s health and safety a concern just in the playgrounds and not the entire park?

Question No. 2: Wouldn’t just one sign, “Welcome to our tobacco-free park,” be a lot better than all those different, ugly, confusing, polluting, stupid signs posted all around the park?

Question No. 3: What are you waiting on?
