On Tuesday, March 7, Shive Elementary hosted its first Community Helper Day.

Students were ecstatic when local police, firefighters and EMS workers greeted them as they entered the school.

After welcoming the students to school with smiles, high fives and dancing, local police, firemen and EMS workers were treated to a breakfast to thank them for serving the our community.

Shive Elementary School plans to make Community Helper Day an annual event. If you would like to be involved in Shive’s Community Helper Day next year, please contact Elizabeth Gillis at 704-279-2899.
