William Jack Upright, 31, of 6310 Charlie Walker Road, Kannapolis, was charged Saturday with two counts of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. According to warrants, Upright allegedly broke into a storage building in the 2600 block of Entrance Ave., Kannapolis, in January and stole $1,180 worth of merchandise including an Echo chainsaw, a Homelite chainsaw, a portable air compressor, Echo leaf blower and Echo weedeater.

Upright allegedly also broke into a storage building in the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive, Kannapolis, in February and took approximately $2,150 worth of items including a Husqvarna chainsaw, a Dewalt skill saw, a battery charger, tool box and a Hulqvarna weedeater.

Upright was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

In other Magistrate’s Office reports:

  • Christal Binkley, of 5th St., Spencer, was charged Friday with simple assault.
  • Jeffrey Allan Null, 35, was charged Friday with assault on a female. According to warrants, Null allegedly shot the victim in the abdomen with a stun gun.
  • Christopher Lee McCrary, 23, of 215 Grants Creek Road, was charged Saturday with resisting a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $8,000 secured bond.
