STATESVILLE — Kickoff for the 13th annual Thumb Pickers Convention starts at 6 p.m. Friday, March 3 with a Meet-and-Greet at Twisted Oaks American Bar & Grill in Statesville. Admission $20.

Then on Saturday, March 4:

• 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Open mic and workshops, $15;

• 7 p.m. Saturday: Concert at Mac Gray Auditorium, Statesville, $25, featuring from Nashville: Loren and Mark, Richard Smith and Julie Adams, Wayne Henderson and Friends, Jeremiah Jobe, Clay Lunsford and Matthew Weaver and Friends.
