Rowan weather: Warm days; storms coming

Winter? What is that?

Here in February, we’re going to have a week with highs in the mid- to upper 60s and 70s.

Peach and grape growers are holding their breaths, hoping their plants do not start budding, because we’re sure to have a least one more hard freeze on the way.

Today will be sunny and 73, with northeast wind around 5 mph this morning. Clouds increase tonight, with a low of 46.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high of 67 and south southeast wind at 3-5 mph. A 50 percent chance of showers moves in Tuesday night after 10 p.m. The low will be 50. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Wednesday will have a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly in the morning. It will be partly sunny and 73. Wednesday night’s low will be 52.

Thursday should be partly sunny and warmer, with a high of 76. The low will be just 56.

Friday has a 40 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms mixed in. It will be partly sunny and 78. The chance of showers and storms goes up to 60 percent Friday night, with storms possible throughout the night. The low will be 58.

Saturday will have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny and 71. The low will dip to 39.

Sunday will be sunny and 65.
