The CGA/TYGA North Carolina All-State banquet was held on Jan. 28 at Pine Needles Golf Club in Southern Pines. Michael Childress, left, and Nick Lyerly, right, were named to the all-state first team. Lyerly was selected as the Player of the Year for the second consecutive time. The state’s top 10-ranked junior golfers earned spots on the first team. Lyerly, a senior at East Rowan, is ranked No. 1. Childress, a junior at Cannon School in Concord, is No. 4.
