Hard to believe just a few days ago we were shivering in the single digit temperatures when this morning is starting out at 52 degrees — at least at the Rowan County Airport.

Today will be partly sunny with a high of 64 and increasing winds, from the southwest at 6-11 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a warm low of 48. South southwest wind will continue at 3-7 mph.

Friday will be partly sunny and 68 degrees, but we will have a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. The chance of rain increases to 40 percent Friday night, with patchy fog forming around 8 p.m. The low will be 41, with east northeast wind at 5-9 mph.

Saturday, too, has a chance of showers, just 30 percent. It will be cloudy and cooler, with a high of 48 and northeast wind at 5-7 mph. The chance of showers drops to 20 percent Saturday night, with a low of 42.

Temperatures rebound Sunday, when it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 60. The low will be 44.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will also be mostly cloudy, with a high of 55. The low will be 46.

A chance of rain returns Tuesday, 30 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 61. The same chance of showers is possible Tuesday night, with a low of 50.

And Wednesday has a 50 percent chance of showers, with mostly cloudy skies again and a high of 64.
