Andrew Douglas Lyerly of Rockwell graduated from boot camp at Parris Island, S.C. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016. Andrew is a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps.

A 2016 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School,        Andrew received the Eagle Scout rank from Troop 84, Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Rimer. He was in the Mount Pleasant marching band for five years.

Andrew is the son of Douglas E. and Karen Shoe Lyerly of Crescent.  His brother is J. Christopher Lyerly.

Until he receives further orders, Andrew will continue with Military Combat Training at Camp Lejeune.
