‘Jungle Book,’ ‘Elf’ among winning themes in Festival of Trees

Staff report

“The Jungle Book” won the People’s Choice Award in this year’s Festival of Trees, held in early December at the F&M Trolley Barn.

The tree was decorated by members of SOAR and sponsored by Signature Weight Loss and Wellness.

The Arc of Rowan organizes the annual Festival of Trees. The free event is one of the main fundraisers for the Arc, which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Local businesses, civic organizations and individuals sponsor a tree. The tree sponsor can either decorate the tree or request someone else decorate it. After being on display for the event, the trees were delivered to area businesses and organizations.
