Rowan weather: Christmasy cold today

If you worked up a sweat yesterday, you’re definitely in cool down mode today, when our temperature will not get any higher than 40 degrees.

Along with the colder air, we’ll see areas of drizzle and a 30 percent chance of rain this morning, then a slight chance of rain between noon and 3 p.m. It will be cloudy and windy, with north northeast winds at 8-13 mph, and gusts up to 18 mph.

Tonight will remain cloudy, with a cold low of 25 and lighter north northeast winds at 5-7 mph.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, but not much warmer, with a high of 45. North northeast wind of 6 mph will calm in the afternoon. We’ll have a mostly clear night with a low of 26 and calm wind.

Wednesday will be sunny and a bit warmer, with a high of 55. A 20 percent chance of showers arrives in the early hours of Thursday, with a low of 34.

Thursday has a 30 percent chance of showers in the morning and will be mostly cloudy with a high of 54. Thursday night’s low will be freezing, 32 degrees.

Friday will be mostly sunny and 50, with a mostly clear night and a low around 29.

Saturday, Christmas Eve and Hanukkah, will be mostly sunny with a high of 53. The low will be 36.

Christmas day also has a 30 percent chance of showers, but will be partly sunny with a high of 56.
