Holiday Play

It is time to make plans for the New Year’s Regional in Charleston S.C. beginning Dec. 27 and running through Jan. 2. Then there is a sectional tournament in Wilmington Dec. 27 – Jan. 31. All information is on the ACBL.org website as to tournament place and open lodging.

We had another party at our Evergreen game on Dec. 16. We sure like our get-togethers around food. Fun and calories galore.

Our Dec. 9 Charity Evergreen game was well attended. Winning were these folks: N/S 1st Toni Iossi and Beth Shafer, 2nd Dave and Anna Goff, 3rd Tom Johnson and Nancy Brandt. E/W tied for 1st /2nd were BettyBonner Steele and Betty Bills with Pat Featherston and Patsy Reynolds, 3rd Fern Albracht and Everett Halsall.

Featured is board # 24 from that game. None vulnerable West dealer

Judy Gealy and Pat Macon had the best N/S score defeating opponents 5DE* 2 tricks, while the best E/W score was made by Fern Abracht and Everett Halsall defeating 5HN 2 tricks. This hand was nasty to all. No one made their contract.

The Women’s Club game Tuesday Dec. 13 was won by: 1st Betty Bills and Beth Shafer, 2nd Loyd Hill and Marie Pugh, 3rd John and Myrnie McLaughlin.

Just a reminder: If you need a partner, call me and I will keep a list so I will be able to offer suggestions. I don’t remember if you tell me while I’m scoring at the end of a game. Thanks.
