Rowan weather: Enjoy today; cold, wet days ahead

We started off foggy, but will eventually become partly sunny today, with a high of 51. North wind will blow at 5-10 mph, becoming lighter in the afternoon.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low of 30. Winds shift to the northwest after midnight, around 5-7 mph.

Thursday will be sunny, but colder, with a high of just 40 degrees. Northwest wind at 10-13 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, will make it feel even colder.

Then we’ll have a frigid low of 16 Thursday night, so round up the pets, bring out the blankets and make sure your family and friends have a way to stay warm. North northwest wind will calm after midnight.

If you thought Thursday was cold, Friday will be even colder, with a high of just 34 degrees. Wind from the east southeast will pick up in the afternoon.

Showers are likely Sunday after 9 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and warmer, with a high of 62. The chance of rain is 70 percent. Rain will continue Sunday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 32. The chance of rain is 60 percent.

Monday’s chance of rain and, dare we say it — snow — is 40 percent. It will be mostly cloudy and 42. The chance of rain and snow Monday night is 50 percent, with a low of 30.

And Tuesday brings a 40 percent chance of rain and snow, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 43.
