Essay contest

The Elks Lodge is holding a national essay contest for students in fifth through eighth grade. The topic for the contest is “Why is it important to vote?”

Essays should be typed or legibly printed in ink, and must be submitted as written by the student themselves. Essays should not exceed 300 words and must be submitted locally to the Salisbury Elks Lodge at 508 S. Main St. on or before Dec. 16.
