CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Lions Club will sponsor the 45th annual Cleveland Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2 p.m. The deadline for submitting entries is Monday, Nov. 28.

The Cleveland Christmas parade has been an annual event since 1972, showcasing local folks and activities. Entries are accepted in regular, religious, antique (auto, truck and tractor), commercial, king/queen, humorous and horse categories.

Our parade allows horses (which will be positioned behind the marching entries), and we allow candy to be tossed (small, individually-wrapped pieces, and no lollipops).  Previous parade attendance has been estimated between 2,000 and 3,000 spectators, mostly Cleveland, Woodleaf and Mount Ulla residents.

The parade will start at the former West Rowan YMCA building/RA Clement High School and travel west towards U.S. 70 and Freightliner.

There is no rain date.  In case of bad weather (heavy rain, extreme cold), the strong of heart will continue. For more information, contact Liz Steele, 704-798-3471.
