A suspect in an Oct. 15 shooting has been arrested, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports. Keith Alexander Harley, 31, was placed on the Most Wanted List on Oct. 19 in reference to a shooting in the 4000 block of Old Beatty Ford Road near China Grove.

On Oct. 15, deputies received a call from a 26 year-old man from Charlotte, who said he had come to the area with Harley to visit someone. He alleged that as he got out of the car, Harley pulled out a handgun and began shooting him. The man told deputies that he ran away, but had been shot five times. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment, and deputies identified Harley as the suspect.

Harley is also from Charlotte, and according to an e-mailed press release has ties to the “Folk Nation” street gang. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police were notified and assisted in the investigation. Warrants were obtained for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and assault inflicting serious injury.

According to the release, Harley was arrested this weekend in Florida, and is being held there on unrelated charges. Once those charges are completed, he will be returned to Rowan County, NC to face charges here.

Keith Harley has been removed from the Sheriff’s Most Wanted List.
