Blotter: Picnic tables set on fire at Henderson Independent High School

SALISBURY — Picnic tables were set on fire at Henderson Independent High School on Friday.

According to Salisbury Police Captain Shelia Lingle, an officer observed smoke coming from the courtyard area of the school. He called in the incident at around 10:40 p.m.

Two picnic tables were on fire.

The incident was reported as arson. Officers are reviewing surveillance video today for more information.

  • A man reported larceny from a motor vehicle at the 400 block of Wildlife Access Road in Richfield on Thursday.
  • A woman reported identity theft at the 300 block of Hall Road in Mount Ulla on Thursday.
  • An in-car video CD was reported having been removed from a patrol car at the 200 block of North Main Street in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • A man reported vandalism at 3600 block of Hickory Place in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • Property was confiscated from a man at the 400 block of Freedom Drive in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • A man reported assault at the 200 block of Blue Heron Road in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • Roberto Jesus Rodriguez, 57, was charged with assault on a female at the 3600 block of Turner Avenue in Kannapolis on Thursday.
  • Adrienne Day Uffner, 41, was charged with assault on a female at the 200 block of North Main Street in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • Jordan Taylor Mays, 22, was charged with resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer at the 200 block of Blue Heron Road in Salisbury on Thursday.
  • Matthew Tyler King, 16, was charged with simple assault at the 1100 block of Safe Haven Lane in Rockwell on Thursday.
  • Sonja Phillips Downs, 48, was charged with simple assault at the 200 block of Blue Heron Road in Salisbury on Thursday.
