Cameron Corriher had 15 saves as South Rowan’s soccer team fought to a 0-0 tie with Central Cabarrus.
Adrian Figueroa and John Fulton were defensive standouts, and Daniel Trejo played well in his first start in place of injured Alex Figueroa.
Corriher had 53 saves in South’s three games this week and is listed among the national leaders by MaxPreps.

Leo Guzman scored three goals as West Rowan topped East Rowan, 7-2, on Thursday in SPC action. Cristyan Cabrera scored two goals for the Falcons, while Jose Martinez and Jose Guerrero had one each. Cabrera and Guzman have double-digit goals this season.

Colin Noone scored the 99th and 100th goals of his career to lead Cox Mill to a 3-0 win against Robinson.

Jayvee football
Tyrone Johnson scored touchdowns on runs of 70 and 5 yards to lead the Salisbury jayvee football team to a 32-8 win against Lexington on Thursday.
Johnson also had a two-point conversion and a fumble recovery.
Luke Holland scored on a 12-yard run. Jamarie McCullough had a 19-yard scoring run. Jareese Lee had a 10-yard TD run.
The Hornets turned in a dominating, sack-filled defensive effort led by Elijah De la Rosa and Lawan Blackwell. Tyjae Polk had an interception.

Malcolm Wilson scored the only TD for North Rowan in a 28-6 loss to West Davidson.

Jakoby Nicholson caught a slant pass for a touchdown, but it was the only score for South Rowan in a 38-6 loss to Central Cabarrus.

A.J. Jackson scored two touchdowns for Carson in a 22-21 loss to Concord.
D’Andre Wilkerson also scored a TD for the Cougars. Hunter Courtney had a two-point conversion, and Juan Espinoza kicked a PAT.

A.L. Brown won, 26-0, against Hough. North Davidson topped Davie, 28-18.
West Rowan won against East Rowan.

Prep volleyball
Hickory Ridge won 25-19, 19-25, 25-13 and 31-29 against West Rowan on Thursday.
Hickory Ridge tied Carson for second place in the South Piedmont Conference. Both teams were 15-3. Carson won a coin flip for second place and will host a pair of first-round tournament games.

Cox Mill completed a perfect regular season by beating Carson 25-18, 25-10 and 25-21 on Thursday.
The Chargers are ranked No. 1 in the state.

South Rowan beat East Rowan 23-25, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-17 on Senior Night.
SR’s Janiya Downs had 10 kills. Jenna Strickland had 13 digs. Breanna Lentz had five kills and five blocks. Kira Rymer had 30 assists and four aces. Madilyn Jones had 10 digs, 10 kills and four aces. Hannah Lambert had 19 digs and 11 kills. Makayla Strickland had six kills and 16 digs.

Salisbury swept North Rowan and finished tied for second in the CCC with East Davidson. West Davidson finished on top.

Prep tennis
Davie won the CPC tournament and Davie’s Laura Becker was the individual champ.
