ROCKWELL — Powles Staton Funeral Home will have a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast at 9 a.m. Oct. 20, a Thursday, at 913 W. Main St.

The event will offer military veterans a free breakfast, including an assortment of sandwiches and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, complete with a dipping station.

Veterans also will be able to register to win a gift card basket.

Those attending are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for the funeral home’s “Operation Toy Soldier,” which provides Christmas toys to children of men and women serving in the military.

People also can bring their used U.S. flags, which the funeral home uses in its “Retire Your Flag with Honor” program.
