Without a cloud in sight, the Rowan County Fair attracted crowds Friday for its opening night.
With vendors, rides, food, animals and other attractions waiting inside, gates opened at 4 p.m. Rides opened at 5 p.m.
As the sweet scent of fair food wafted through the air, rides cranked up and people piled into the fairgrounds for an evening of fall fun.
The demolition derby will be tonight at 7 p.m. There’s also a dairy goat show at 1 p.m.
The Rowan County Fair continues nightly until Saturday, Oct. 1. Weather forecasts for today show sunny weather. The same is expected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. On other days, forecasts show clouds and the possibility of rain in some cases.
