SALISBURY — The city of Salisbury will have a Back in School event where students can enjoy food, games, music and dancing. The free event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hall’s Gym/Miller Recreation Center, 1402 W. Bank St.

Nick Aceves, director of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, said it’s a fun, informal event for kids.

The idea came about as a community event for students who now have been in school for nearly a month.

There will be a bounce house and school supplies, and Salisbury Police Chief Jerry Stokes will be on hand to meet residents.

Aceves said the invitation was sent to community service agencies where parents can get information on after-school programs and other available services.
