KANNAPOLIS — Kannapolis Police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old girl after it was reported a body was found Thursday near railroad tracks in the vicinity of the 900 block of South Main Street.

Officers responded at 6:06 p.m. and located the body of Adriana Lorenzo Salinas of Kannapolis. Her injuries are consistent with being struck by a train. An autopsy will be performed and once completed will be compared to the evidence collected at the scene, officials said.
