Rowan weather: Heat won’t let up

Will this heat and humidity ever end? We’re looking at another 100-degree heat index today, with plenty of sunshine and a high of 93.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with south southwest wind at 3-7 mph.

Tonight, the chance of rain increases to 40 percent, mainly before 3 a.m. The low will be 73. A tenth to a quarter inch of rain is possible.

Thursday also has a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 10 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 89. Then the chance of storms and showers goes up to 50 percent for Thursday night. It will be 71 with calm wind. Thunderstorms could bring heavy rain.

Friday has a 40 percent chance of showers, then thunderstorms after 11 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 88 and north northwest wind around 5 mph in the afternoon. Friday night’s low will be 72, with a 30 percent chance of rain.

Saturday will be partly sunny and 88, with another 40 percent chance of showers and storms. And Saturday night’s chance is 30 percent, with a low of 72.
