Here’s information about the school supplies students will need in the Rowan-Salisbury School System.

Elementary school

The following is a list of school supplies, which teachers may request that students bring to school. In these days of economic concerns, assistance will be available for students who need help in securing these items.

General elementary list

Kindergarten — Book bag. Optional Items — Glue sticks, three-ring binder, Ziploc bags, Wet Wipes, unscented, change of clothing, scissors, tissues.

First grade — Book bag, block eraser, glue sticks, pencils, Ziploc bags, pencil pouch/box, old sock. Optional Items — 70-page composition notebook, dry erase markers, tissues.

Grade 2 — Book bag, crayons, notebook paper, pencils, pencil pouch/box, glue, erasers. Optional items — scissors, Ziploc bags, pocket folders, composition notebooks, clipboard, tissues.

Grade 3 — loose-leaf paper, pencils, tissues.

Grade 4 — loose-leaf paper, pencils, pencil pouch/box, composition notebooks or three-ring binder, tissues.

Grade 5 — loose-leaf paper, pencils, pencil pouch/box, composition notebook or three-ring binder, tissues.

Middle and high school

Middle school supply needs are dependent upon which team or teacher the child is assigned. High school needs depend on the student’s classes.

Schedules will not be ready until right before school begins and are given out at open houses. Supply needs will be made available as schedules are distributed.
