Part of two streets closing Monday for pipe replacement

The N.C. Department of Transportation must close a section of North Main Street between West Steele Street and West Henderson in Salisbury for the replacement of a deteriorating pipe.
Weather permitting, crews will close the road at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8. The road is scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21.
Motorists traveling through the area will use Richard Street, North Lee Street and East Cemetery Street as the one-mile detour route.
The NCDOT must close a section Cannon Street between China Grove Highway and Cal Miller Road in Rockwell as crews replace a failing pipe under the roadway.
Weather permitting, crews will close the road at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8. The road is scheduled to reopen at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19.
Motorists traveling through the area will use China Grove Highway, East Main Street, Lower Stone Church Road and Cal Miller Road as the one-mile detour route.
Transportation Officials remind motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
