Rowan weather: More storms today?

Did the thunder wake you up last night? We’re in for more of the same this afternoon and evening, and some of those storms could be severe, with damaging winds, heavy rainfall and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.

Today will be partly sunny and 90, with calm wind becoming southwest at 5-7 mph this afternoon. The chance of rain is 60 percent after 5 p.m.

Tonight also has a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with patchy fog forming in the early hours of Tuesday. The low ill be 70 with calming winds.

Tuesday has just a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 1 p.m. It will be mostly sunny and 89 with light wind. The same chance of rain sticks around Tuesday night, with showers and storms mainly before 3 a.m. The low will be 69.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 90, with east wind at 3-6 mph and a 30 percent chance of showers and storms after 3 p.m. The chance of rain drops to 20 percent Wednesday night, with a low of 70.

Thursday’s high will be 89, with partly sunny skies and the usual 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. That chance continues through 9 p.m. The low will be 70

No rain in the forecast for Friday or Saturday. Friday will be mostly sunny and 90, with a low of 71.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 93, with a low of 72.

Sunday will also be mostly sunny and 93, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
