CONCORD – The Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services paramedic team of captains Justin Brines and Will Cannon will represent the region in the N.C. State Paramedic Competition in Greensboro in October.

Last month, the two won the regional preliminaries for the state competition.

The state EMS office sponsors the contest to improve quality of care and training, while recognizing top performing teams from around North Carolina. The competition includes written and demonstration components.

Brines, a specialty services supervisor, has 18 years of service with EMS and Cannon, a shift supervisor, has 11 years of EMS experience. Both are nationally registered paramedics.
