STATESVILLE — A Salisbury man has been arrested in Statesville after the man jumped off a bridge to elude deputies.

Michael Anthony Brown, 34, of the 1500 block of South Main Street, Salisbury, was stopped by Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies Weston Parks, Charles Davidson and David Golden for careless driving, a vehicle registration violation and crossing over the center line.

While Davidson was searching for a weapon, Brown began to fight with him and brook loose, running away from deputies, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
