Rowan weather: Heat is building up

It’s just more of the same today, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m.

It will be partly sunny and 91 with little wind, around 5 mph from the north later today. Tonight has a 40 percent chance of storms and showers before midnight. Patchy fog is possible after that. The low will be 69 with calm wind.

Some of the storms could be slow moving and dump quite a bit of rain. A few storms could turn severe, with damaging winds the main threat.

No rain for Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 89. Northeast wind will blow at 5-7 mph. The low will be 68, with a calming wind.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers and storms Thursday afternoon, but mostly sunny skies and a high of 89, with calm wind in the morning, picking up to 5 mph from the south in the afternoon. The low will be 70.

Friday will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high of 93. We’ll have a 30 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m., then partly cloudy skies and a low of 73.

Saturday and Sunday will be real scorchers. Stay inside with a cold drink days. The high Saturday, under mostly sunny skies, will be 96. The low will be a sticky 74.

For Sunday, the high will be 97 with mostly sunny skies. Sunday night brings a 30 percent chance of showers and storms and another very warm low of 74.

Monday will be hot, too, with a high of 94 under partly sunny skies. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is also possible.
