Authorities: Body found on Hannah Ferry Road apparent overdose
SALISBURY — A day after a Salisbury man was reported missing by his girlfriend, Rowan authorities say a fisherman found him dead inside his car of an apparent overdose.
Howard “Craig” Talbert was last seen June 15 at the East Ridge Road home he shared with his girlfriend, who said she’d called his cell phone several times but never received a response.
Talbert’s yellow Toyota truck was spotted by a man who went to Hannah Ferry Road to fish. The truck was parked at the edge of the water. Ellis Crossroads Fire Department responded and personnel knew Talbert and that he’d been reported missing. The man in the truck was confirmed to be Talbert after a look at his wallet.
Authorities found several pill bottles and four 24-ounce cans of beer.
