SALISBURY — The fifth annual Skills and Drills Basketball Camp will be held next Monday through Friday, July 18-22, at Livingstone College’s Trent Gymnasium, 701 W. Monroe St.

Families and Communities Together (FACT) — a program founded by Moore’s Chapel and Soldiers Memorial AME Zion churches —  sponsors the camp, which will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day and is led by several area coaches.

The camp is for girls and boys ages 9 to 15. It is free of charge, includes a lunch, and transportation is available if needed.

Each day also includes a guest speaker. Those lined up to talk with the camp participants include Dr. Jimmy Jenkins, president of Livingstone College; Nick Means, vice president of F&M Bank; singer Teresa Moore-Mitchell; Javon Hargrave, a college football standout who was recently drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers; Kenny Hardin; Kevin McClain; and Jason Walser.

Applications for attending the camp are available at the Hurley Family YMCA and through DeCarlo Duling, who can be reached at 770-899-7897.
