Person suffers burns in Rowan County structure fire

A person was treated for burns Monday night at a fire on Romana Drive in northern Rowan County.

Firefighters responded around 8:30 p.m. to find a structure in flames at 475 Ramona Drive, off Long Ferry Road.

The firefighers found a person with burns and called for emergency medical responders. They also called a second alarm to request more resources to fight the fire.

After about 25 minutes, firefighters declared the event under control and released the second-alarm equipment and personnel.

The extent of the burn victim’s injuries was not clear Monday night.
