Starting today, Southerners who love the refreshing taste of Cheerwine and delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts can now enjoy both legendary tastes in one beverage.

Cheerwine Kreme, a new soft drink by the two North Carolina born-and-based brands, to create a new taste experience.

Available to delight taste buds in North Carolina, South Carolina and parts of Georgia, Cheerwine Kreme is available in major grocery chains, select convenience stores and at Krispy Kreme shops.

“Krispy Kreme and Cheerwine are cut from a very similar cloth, as both brands are southern staples and have been enjoyed by generations,” said Tony Thompson, President and CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Cheerwine Kreme is a refreshing take on two iconic treats that will be sure to become another southern classic.”

On July 23, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is inviting people to its shops in North Carolina, South Carolina and Savannah, Ga., to sample Cheerwine Kreme for free.

The new soft drink is Cheerwine and Krispy Kreme Doughnut’s second time collaborating to make a one-of-a-kind treat.  Back in 2010, the two joined forces to bring fans the Cheerwine-filled Krispy Kreme doughnut, which sold out in many shops during its limited availability.

“When Cheerwine and Krispy Kreme come together, great flavor collisions happen,” said Joy Ritchie Harper, Cheerwine’s head of marketing and fifth generation family member of Cheerwine’s founder. “We worked hard in our ‘labs’ perfecting the taste, ensuring that Cheerwine Kreme will delight our loyal fans while attracting new consumers through a deliciously unique flavored soft drink.”
