SALISBURY — Antique cars from across America descended on downtown Salisbury Wednesday as part of the Antique Automobile Club’s 2016 Sentimental tour.

The cars parked in a lot near the corner of East Fisher and South Lee streets. Passersby stopped and gawked at the unique cars, all of which dated back several decades. The oldest car taking part in the tour is a 1928 Huppmobile, which traveled from Reno, Nevada.

A number of car owners hauled vehicles to Salisbury to avoid major breakdowns en route.

The sentimental tour continues through the week, with car owners visiting various attractions in the Charlotte area.

Today, they plan to visit Gold Hill and Morgan Ridge Vineyards
