Not every person is identified in this photograph, but that’s Dorothy Howard, in the middle whose classmates chose as the homecoming queen during the 1947-48 school year at J.C. Price High in Salisbury. Virginia Pharr Wilson, standing to the left of the queen, provided this picture in advance of the J.C. Price High School Alumni Association’s 30th anniversary meeting in Salisbury June 24-25. Eleanor Qadirah of Salisbury is the national association’s president. The weekend will include a traditional fish fry on Friday and a Saturday night dance. Others who can be identified in the photograph, left to right, are Odessa Carson and Doris Miller, then Wilson and Howard. To the immediate right of the queen is Mary Wansley.
