City of Salisbury
It is very exciting for Salisbury to be named a finalist for the National Civic League’s All-America City Award! As you might know, the status of All-America City is an honor that is only bestowed annually on 10 communities across the country. It is the most prestigious honor a community can nationally receive. We are delighted to be a finalist and are determined to come back from Denver, Colorado, with the well-deserved moniker of “2016 All-America City.”
We invite you to help sponsor the All-America City trip to Denver on June 17-19, 2016. Your contribution of $1,000 would enable one student from Knox Middle School, the YMCA or Norvell Children’s Theater to help tell our story. These are the people that will best be able to articulate the value this community has had on their lives. In an effort to further note the vibrancy of this place we choose to call home, we have invited the Mini Funk Band. Any additional contribution you would choose to make will help defray their expense as well.
We think the award will have positive impacts in many different ways. Externally, it certainly helps differentiate us from other communities with whom we might compete for visitors and business prospects. Internally, the community can swell with a sense of community pride realizing that Salisbury really is THE PLACE!
This is an exciting time to be working and living in this community. We have a magnificent story to tell, we have an audience ready to hear it, and we are proud to represent this community. “Salisbury, NC – 2016 All-America City” has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
Please positively consider this request and we will add you to the growing list of sponsors for the trip. All checks should be made payable to: Salisbury All-America City and mailed to the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 559, Salisbury, NC, 28145-0559.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact Chamber President Elaine Spalding at 704.633.4221 or espalding@rowanchamber.com.
